Our roots
From Lebanon to the Americas. A story that continues.
Pierre M. Lichaa’s memoir traces a family story across northern Lebanon, Venezuela, and the United States. Work, education, and connections across generations run through his account.
Pierre recalls growing up in Bnachii, Tripoli, and Basloukit. He also describes earlier generations settling in Venezuela, building lives in Caracas and the eastern part of the country while staying connected to Lebanon.
In Punta de Mata, the family business helped support the next generation’s education. Pierre credits his brother André’s work in the business and his contribution to their sisters’ education in medicine, dentistry, and university teaching.
Pierre’s own path took him farther. He left Lebanon in 1959, traveled through Venezuela, and arrived in Louisiana in 1960 to study. His memoir preserves both the challenges of starting over in another country and the importance of gathering as a family and staying close.
For Lichaa Consulting, this history inspires a forward-looking perspective: recognize what a family has built, discuss what it wants to preserve, and make room for each generation’s contribution.
