Describe the decision
Write down the decision your company needs to make. Expanding an offer, entering a market, and assigning sales and marketing responsibilities are different questions and may need different information.
Separate experience from assumptions
Invite each person to explain what they know, what they believe, and what they still need to find out. A family member’s long experience can be valuable without making every interpretation a settled fact.
Put the decision in writing
Record the decision, its rationale, the person responsible, and when you will revisit it. This is a management habit. Formal ownership, succession, and legal agreements call for advice from qualified specialists.
